Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection or ICSI is a procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into the egg. ICSI is very similar to conventional IVF and differs in the method used to achieve fertilization. In IVF a large number of actively motile sperm are required and one of the many sperms fertilize the egg naturally whereas in ICSI one single good sperm is enough to fertilize one egg.

Success Rate Of ICSI

AT PHS Fertility success rates meet the global standards and we are very strict about quality monitoring. This micro manipulative treatment has emerged as an ideal treatment in patients with poor sperm quality, who had low success rates with IVF cycles. Also it is now possible for those with nil sperm count to father their children with OWN sperm. Furthermore it is a useful procedure in patients who had fertilisation failures due to inability of sperm to penetrate the outer shell ( zona ) of the egg, in previous IVF cycles.

Depending on Variety of variable, the success rate varies from patient to patient. Age is the best predictive factors , and younger patient perform better.
